Dermatoscopy is a modern, non-invasive method for examining the skin using a specialized instrument — a dermatoscope. The procedure allows detailed evaluation of skin structures (moles, papillomas, nevi), detection of signs of transformation or inflammation, and assessment of the risk of malignant changes. The examination is painless and does not require special preparation.
Indications
- Presence of 1–3 moles, papillomas, or other skin lesions
- Suspected changes in color, shape, or size of a lesion
- Need for monitoring the condition of the skin
Procedure
- Examination of the skin and selected lesions using a dermatoscope
- Detailed photography and recording of the lesion’s condition
- Procedure duration: approximately 10–15 minutes
- Recommendations provided for monitoring, care, or referral to a doctor if treatment is needed
Contraindications
- Acute inflammatory processes in the area of examination
- Open wounds or active skin infections in the lesion area
