If the procedure is performed with local anesthesia, it is not necessary to fast. If there is a possibility of general anesthesia or sedation, do not consume food or liquids for 6–8 hours before the procedure. Get enough rest before the procedure. Tell your doctor if you have had allergies to anesthetics, cardiac, respiratory or neurological diseases. You may need a companion, especially if you are sedated.
